Last Day Announcement
Good evening, Iotla Valley Families. Tomorrow is the last day of school, and it is a half day. Car dismissal will begin at 11:15, and buses will leave school at approximately 11:40.
There will be no after-school edventure program tomorrow.
We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments our students have achieved this year. Please continue to engage in reading activities throughout the summer. We look forward to seeing everyone in August. Have a fantastic summer.

Week 36 5/19 - 5/23
This is Goria Painter, the Assistant Principal at Iotla Valley Elementary. I am calling to share some important announcements for this week.
Awards Ceremonies are this week. May 21st at 10:00, Pre-Ks will be hosted in the library. At 1:30, our 4th Grade will be hosted in the gymnasium. On May 22nd at 8:30 will be our 3rd and 2nd Graders, 11:00 our 1st Grade, and 1:30, Kindergarten.
The Kindergarten time is at 1:30 and not 1:00 as previously posted. I am sorry for the confusion.
This Friday is a half day for student.
Have a wonderful evening, and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Week 35 5/12 - 5/16

3rd and 4th graders will take their end-of-grade reading test tomorrow, May 12th, and their math test on May 14th. Please make sure your student is well rested tonight and give lots of positive affirmations tomorrow morning. This time of year can bring a lot of anxiety for students, but we want to remind everyone that they are truly incredible just the way they are!
We are still looking for nine more class sponsors for our shaved ice celebration on the 14th. If you would like to sponsor a class for $50, please call the school or contact your student's teacher. Cash or check made payable to Iotla Valley Elementary.

We have one more day of teacher appreciation week, but we appreciate our teachers year round! PTO treated our teachers to Love Tap Teas. We have heavenly cheesecake, and the best breakfast charcuterie spread ever!!! Thank you for the donations for our teacher raffle- Hyra828, Graffs, Gracious Plates, and more to come. Another exciting day tomorrow!!

Only Day 2 into Teachers Appreciation Week and boy are we having fun celebrating! Thank you to Strange Trip Pizza for catering lunch on Monday. Thank you for the food donations and supplies from parents and our PTO for a fabulous Taco Bar today. We celebrated our teachers who have finished their teaching degrees or masters degrees. Thank you to local businesses who have generously donated gift cards and treat bags - Fusion Spa, Graff's, Love Tap Tea, Smoky Mountain River Adventure, and 828Cafe so far with many more to come. Thank you for our County Office Leaders and Staff coming to help along side our staff to give our teachers duty free lunch the past two days. We are so thankful for our teachers and staff. We look forward to continuing to celebrate them this week!

Teacher Appreciation Week is this week. Students can help celebrate their teachers each day.
Monday - Bring your teacher a flower (fresh, fake, or hand-drawn).
Tuesday - Draw a picture for your teacher.
Wednesday - Bring your teacher a handmade thank-you card.
Thursday - Treat your teacher to their favorite snack, sweet treat, or candy.
Friday - Wear your teacher’s favorite color and it’s our Hawaiian Day. Let’s see how creative your students can be.
If you signed up to help our PTO with supplies for Tuesday's Taco Lunch, please ensure you have dropped those off at the school tomorrow. We appreciate all your help with this luncheon.
Our school’s Buy One, Get One (BOGO) Book Fair is this week. Teachers have signed up for times to shop with their class. Parents can shop with their student(s) on the 7th and 8th at 7:30 - 8:00 or on the 8th at 2:45 - 3:30.
